Alumni House Expansion & Renovation

Home to nearly 100,000 alumni, William & Mary’s Alumni House will be undergoing a major expansion and renovation thanks to the generosity of Hunter J. Smith ’51 and other supporters of the $20.7 million project. The Alumni House, which sits along Richmond Road next to Zable Stadium, will grow by approximately 35,000 square feet — bringing it to a total of nearly 55,000 square feet — and will soon be one of the largest social gathering places on campus and in Williamsburg, Va. While construction will begin in spring 2018, the university is aiming to raise an additional $1.5 million for the project, along with creating a $4.5 million endowment supporting the operations and maintenance of the upgraded house.
