Alexis B. Foxworth '15

“As a student, I learned how to identify and analyze pressing community needs. Through conversation and kinship with community members, I developed a better understanding of the complexity of needs. As a William & Mary Community Engagement Fellow, I have the opportunity to apply what I learned in class and in the community to be a leader, mentor, coach and advisor to the next generation of students."
Inspired by the Aspen Institute’s national call to action, William & Mary established four fellowships in the Office of Community Engagement in 2013. Each fellow receives a stipend and housing in our graduate complex for 10 months. Alexis Foxworth is one of those fellows. With a strong commitment to justice and vast volunteer experience, Alexis is focusing on coordinating tutoring, mentoring and after-school programs for underserved students and homeless families residing in local motels.
